Kings agree. I know there will be those that don't like it, but I want to go in a different direction. Hines and Kareem on the front court should be a beast of a post presence.

It's actually not even that bad now that I'm looking at it. I can't lie. I didn't realize Hines was only 26. If Kings guy doesn't find some volume scorers on the wing and re-sign Kirkland it's all for nothing though.

The risk here is all on FDA in my eyes. Also Peewee can be extended for another season.

The kings got Hines who when not playing behind a bunch of stars in New York will be one of the top bigs in this league.

I’ve said it before, but if anything the Knicks overpaid in this trade. Very high risk and gave up two all league type players.
For players like Kobe you have to overpay though. Ball and Kobe backcourt is going to be nasty for years.

Backup PG that he probably could not extend next offseason and center that he could not fit into his original position - comeon - fair trade, agree, but overpayment? No

beatonz Kirkland was Already extended last year. lionsbryan since we're being all honest here. We made this trade in about a 10 minute time span and I was driving and using my phone. The injury didn't really cross my mind. With a trade of this magnitude it's not like either of us were making it for the next 60 games anyways, we're making it with multiple seasons in mind. 22 hours earlier... I hate this game.Injuries Name Injury Duration Fred Brown Severe Depression 66 Richard Hamilton Severe Migraines 7 Andrea Bargnani Broken Ribs 7 Derek Cummings Broken Finger 6 I dont believe you when you say "it didn't cross your mind" because 22 hours earlier it clearly weighted heavily on your mind. I believe you intentionally traded an injured player that was out 66 days. And you did not bother to let the other GM know. A newbie GM at that. You were wrong for that.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. I do think I gave better value for LaVine than you gave for Kobe.

No I agree, the Knicks traded pieces that were expendable. But I’m talking about how valuable the asset is. The Knicks are loaded with talent but that doesn’t make Hines or Peewee less valuable to the teams that are not the Knicks. Hines - will be an league player and will put up 26+ppg, 11rpg, 3bpg Peewee - maybe 20ppg, 10apg, probable all star in the near future I guess what I’m saying is, despite trading the best player in this trade. I think the Kings become a better team and don’t have to be concerned about losing Kobe for nothing this offseason. If the Knicks lose Kobe just like they lost Damon. Then what? Was this a good deal for the Knicks?
