When you send a FA offer they need to be broken down like this
Name of player, # of years, salary per year.
or for min offer or max you can put the follow Player name, Min deal Player name, number of years, max deal player name MLE Player name LLE
If you just send me player name, 6 years 50mil total .. I will not enter it.
Also if you are in the hardcap you cannot offer contracts other than MLE, LLE, Min deals to fill to 12 only. You can also offer contracts to players from your team who went to FA. No other offers are allowed if you are in the hardcap. You can offer min deals after the offcial FA period if needed to get to 12 only if you are in the hardcap. (This is the penalty for being in the hardcap.)
If you are under the cap please make offers with what you have in cap space not including MLE, LLE, player from your team who went to FA resigns.
If you send me 10 offers I will enter them in order up to what you have in cap room. all other allowed offers like MLE, LLE, player resigns will be allowed along with those offers. Anything above that per FA sim I will not enter.

so. . . .this is a new rule that if you are above the soft cap limit. . .your roster cannot exceed 12 healthy players. (I guess if you are above that number they remain. . . .)
This would seem to extend into the regular season play.
Are we able if we are in the hardcap and make a trade that sends one player and we receive two to remain at 13. . .or must we cut back to 12?

Its not a new rule. If you read the rules many people have been breaking them. If you are over the softcap you cannot offer min deals til after the official FA period and this will only get you to 12. You can however still offer resigns, MLE, LLE. Min offers for those over the softcap will have to wait til after the official FA period. This is the penalty to being in the hardcap. Hardcap is not your friend. I am not letting people slide on this anymore.

I'm confused. . . .In your initial post you said: "Also if you are in the hardcap you cannot offer contracts other than MLE, LLE, Min deals to fill to 12 only. " (note min deals included) I took a look at the rules which were edited yesterday and they say: "If you are over the softcap you cannot make FA offers during the FA period other than MLE, LLE, and to a player you have the birdrights to (which you can max up to the 70mil hardcap depending where you are at in the hardcap). If you want to make a normal FA offer you will have to make a trade to get under the softcap. You can however after the normal FA period make 1 year min offers on players to fill a roster." Obviously over the soft cap is over $53M. . . . but what is "in the Hardcap" . . . In your last post you say: "Min offers for those over the softcap will have to wait til after the official FA period." and then "This is the penalty to being in the hardcap" I guess "over the softcap" and "in the hardcap" are the same? However, in previous Free Agencies we seemed to allow minimum offers to FA when we were in the soft cap.

hardcap is anything over softcap. so this is in the hard cap, you can if you are below softcap offer whatever you want to players in FA but when you are over the softcap you can only offer MLE, LLE, and resign offers to players who went to FA from your team.
Min offers when over the softcap will have to wait til after the FA period. This allows teams who managed there finaces well to get better shots at min players. Any team over the softcap can make min offers after the offical FA period but not during.

Little confused. Just need this to get cleared up for me.
So say you have about a 1 mill under the soft cap. Will I be able to say offer a max contract to Ewing?

But just remember you cant make any other offers to players other than resigns, MLE, LLE, MIN deals if you get into hardcap.

Basically if you dont have the cap room (softcap) to make a offer you can max out a player. Only thing hardcap is for is resigning players, MLE, LLE, Min deals... if you have 1mil in cap room your offer wouldnt go in because the min deal on a top player would be alot more than that. And you cant offer what you dont have.

If you are 1 million under the soft cap, you can make an offer of 12.5 starting with 10% raises? (this was yourkers question you said yes to)

I mean he could offer with what he has remaining in cap space. (this does not include hardcap). The only way he could offer a max deal is if the player is a birdright player, or player resign. Otherwise the game is going to take what he has in cap room remaining as a offer which wouldnt on a top player with experience reach the min deal. So basically he can offer but it wont go through.
The Hardcap is only used to sign a birdright player, or player resign any other offer wont be entered as it doesnt fall under those rules. other deals allowed if in the hardcap are MLE,LLE, min offers

okay so that part confused me, I have done FA several times before in another league but I just want to make sure I'm clear on this.
I should have about $19 mil in cap space this offseason since I declined McKey and Jackson. I don't know how much the max contract is cuz I can't find it anywhere but anyway....lets say a max contract is $15mil per season , does this mean I can only offer one max contract to one single player? In my other league we are allowed to offer the max to as many players as we want, if we only have room for one, we get whoever signs first then the rest are just void because obviously we don't have the cap space.
Hopefully that is clear enough for you to understand haha
basically with my $19 mil can I say:
Shaq, 6 years, Max
or can I say
Shaq, 6 years, max David Robinson 6 years, max yada yada yada

You can make up to 10 offers per day using the cap space you have available. For example, if you have $10 million in cap space, you can offer that $10 million to 10 different players, and the first to accept will be yours. The other offers will be rejected because you no longer have the cap space.
One rule that I didn't see in this thread is that you can make up to 10 offers per day. It's somewhere on the site, but I'm not sure where.
I think you saw how the max salary amounts are calculated in the other thread, so I won't go into detail about that right now.
