You think that worked?
Earlier in the conversation I read the word “inflation” associated with the shot blocking in this league.
Well according to that link you got quite the inflation problem yourselves.
5 teams that average 130+ PPG 16 teams that average at least 122 PPG
This is your solution? To be more like that? I’m sorry, but that looks fucking awful.

We had the ability to add more points to players, thus increasing their attributes, so of course scoring was going to be higher. The point is that bigs could effectively score and inside offenses were just as good as outside offenses. At the end of the day, thats all we are looking to achieve.

Because it was thoroughly tested.. here are some of the earlier years before we had higher inflation.. same story: simleague.host/TMBSL6/3005/rosters.htmWe also had an entire mechanics article that breaks down the software and literally spells out why the changes work: tmbslsix.proboards.com/thread/23/mechanics

Reducing blocking doesn't make them.more efficient. Makes them more worthless compared to every other position.

This game is not perfect and it will always favor gaurds as mentioned earlier it's just the way the game was built. This is why bigs like Alonzo, Shaq, Chamberlain I gave higher inside too than ever before. What the game does to them potential/training camp wise it will do.

Reducing blocking doesn't make them.more efficient. Makes them more worthless compared to every other position. This is categorically false based on all of the testing and league data we have seen. The primary reason that bigs, and inside offenses, are not efficient is due to the high block ratings of the bigs. When that is reduced the scoring numbers amongst bigs increases substantially. Just look through the mechanisms article I posted, it spells it out perfectly.

This is partially true… yes, guards will always be favored in the system due to the fact they always start with the ball. Where you are wrong is the ability to create balance in the league so that bigs can be viable, which I stated in my previous post. Inaide grades being higher can help, but if the blocking ratings aren’t lowered in conjunction then it just leads to even more inefficiency. I guarantee that if you tested the blocking changes it would yield better results for bigs.

What's the big deal if centers shoot lower percentages? If we already have high scoring guards averaging 30. Why does everybody need to score? What's wrong with having some sort of defense in the league?
Offenses always are gonna become inflated as the league progresses. Shot blocking is the only combative factor to it. You remove shot blocking, then there's no defense left. And then you have a league where everybodies scoring 120-130 per game on 50 FG %. How is that a good thing?

I've shared my opinion on the Dleague in the past. And how it can be fixed.
But this shot blocking agenda just seems like an unnecessary reach.

I can’t tell if you are purposefully missing the facts and deflecting because you are scared of change or if you are too daft to understand the logic. Let me explain it again. High shot blocking in bigs disproportionally affects anyone that is scoring inside the paint. Thus, it’s going to have a much bigger impact on inside scoring teams, primarily bigs, and greatly impact their scoring and efficiency. Teams that utilize outside scoring, primarily guards and wings, will be affected on a minimal basis, thus their scoring numbers and efficiency will be higher. Thisnis why you see our league being dominated by outside scoring and wing play. Reducing the blocking in bigs allows for inside scoring to be an option and for bigs to take on more of the scoring. As long as rating distributions remain the same, the scoring won’t increase but rather shift who is the player scoring the points. I just don’t get why anyone wouldn’t want to see a more balanced league overall. Who wouldn’t want a league where all time legends like Wilt and Shaq actually become elite players. Not having a league where any random, no name guard or wing can become good and score 20+ ppg. Balance is the best way to run a league and it offers the most options for a GM when building a team. Why you wouldn’t want that is strange to me

And also, again we aren’t talking hypotheticals here.
Our older league iterations ended up in the same place as this one, with wings dominating while everyone looked for non scoring, defensive and rebounding bigs. It got boring and stale and we tested ways to make changes. That testing resulted in the suggestions that Druce proposed and we found balance in the league.
It worked and both inside and outside scoring teams won titles. Why this idea would be so quickly dismissed is wild to me when we know it works within the software

This comment proves you are not reading or understanding ANY of this. It has nothing to do with shot blocking as just blocking shots. What is being said is that by lowering shot blocking you WILL increase the impact and effectiveness of C's and PF's. It is not hypothetical, it is proven, now you may want to ignore the proof which is fine, I guess. This league is absolutely dominated by OP guards. Unless you have an OP guard you WILL NOT WIN anything. There are also very few OP guards. The point is why not allow some C's and PF's to actually be good scorers. It isnt saying make ALL good scorers. Things do not have to be an all or nothing, their can be a mix.

Shaq is on his way too. 19/10 as a 2nd year player. I've watched Moses Malone dominate the league for the last 10 years. Embiid, Hines, Hawkins, Joe Smith, etc. Look around the league. The bigs here aren't exactly living off Spam and Beans. They're eating good. They're playing good. Just because sapular traded for Jalen Smith, who's .282 FG % looks more like an MLB batting average, doesn't mean we gotta change the whole league right?

Because I was told about this majestic league. So I clicked the link, and I saw a league that was neck deep in inflation. I saw a league where the 21st ranked offense was scoring 122 PPG. I saw a league where 5 teams were averaging 130+ PPG. Guess what happened next? I was told thats "irrelevant". So I'm shown proof. Then I'm told to ignore the proof. And now I'm blamed for ignoring proof. Well what the fuck man? So don't ignore the proof? OK. Well what I see today. Same with what I saw yesterday. Is a league that got rid of shot blocking, and now nobody can play fucking defense. And everbody can score a million points. That's the proof I'm looking at. I'm looking at a sillyass league, that you three stooges are presenting as the Gold Star of simulation. But the truth is, that league kinda sucks.

This is crazy. I look at a league, and in giant letters I see:
INFLATION
I mean it's staring me right in the face. What am I supposed to do? Look away?
And everytime I bring that to the attention of you and the lollipop guild, it gets dismissed. I don't understand why.

I'm looking at a sillyass league, that you three stooges are presenting as the Gold Star of simulation. But the truth is, that league kinda sucks. You're being purposefully obtuse, which is par for the course. The link that was presented was 25 seasons deep, inflation happens in every FBB league, which you're aware of. That league also upgraded players totally differently, allowing +30 to be added to every player. Scoring inflation and toning down shot blocking are not mutually exclusive, the example provided just doesn't account for inflation protection. Your usage of "three stooges" is cute, but as seems to be a recurring theme, you're ignoring information that doesn't help you or give you an advantage. Your team currently has 4 of the top 7 highest shot blocking players in the league, of course you don't want shot blocking to go to the wayside. Your team has 3 of the best/most efficient guards in the league, of course you don't want post players to become efficient scorers. Any change proposed that goes against your many years of experience in this league that might challenge your overall dominance is met with resistance. You can say that league kinda sucks all you want, it's a subjective opinion, but that league had 29 active members for the better part of 11 years, over 6 iterations, and was constantly active in shout, trading, and everything else. This league has at best like 10 active members and another 6-7 who passively run their teams with no real direction. Congratulations, you are the king of a castle who's walls are threatened to be stormed once every....century? Outside of the Raptors, 76ers, and T-Wolves, who else here is consistently a direct threat to the Knicks? Saying that league sucks might in fact be a stones and glass house situation. I enjoyed that league, and I enjoy this league, and I will continue to present new ideas no matter the amount of pushback.
