This is the pool of players that would fill up most of the top 10. I think this is significantly weaker than the bar we've set in past drafts for a few reasons:
- These players are all 22 because this is sampled from a pretty old NBA draft from an era where players attended college for four years. Age doesn't play a factor in this draft because everyone is just older-than-desired age. I would mix some of these guys up (like Sprewell, Mourning, Brandon, Jackson, Johnson) as being 19 to 21 years old.
- Defense as a whole is very low in this pool of players. And very, very low if they're 22 years old. Some of these "C" should be "C+" or "B-". Jim Jackson and Terrell Brandon specifically were both well above average NBA defenders.
- Jon Barry was dope. Why you gotta hate?

Shaq’s defense should be at least a B- imo

class looks pretty solid to me in relation to irl. only small change i'd make is zo being the best defender in the class over pj brown and horry, but if zo has strong shot blocking which i imagine he does then it doesn't really matter

PJ Brown is already in the league. So we should probably delete the one in the class.

Shaquille O'Neal C 7'1'' 325 20 B+ F+
Giving a Shaq a F+ for outside is a lack of understanding that Hack-a-Shaq was a thing only because Shaq was a generational talent that could not be stopped inside.
Yes, he was not a good ft shooter and his ft shooting form was ugly. but he is still a career 52.7% shooter. Almost 60% if you consider his rookie season.
Jump shot impacts directly ft %. So Shaq's outside should actually go up to D+ which is still pretty terrible. I mean, even Ben Wallace that was a 41% shooter started with a D+, lol.

Awarding Messi with Ballon d'Or was lack of understanding

Messi last award makes no sense but votes are public.
Just saying that Shaq is a generational talent so grade him as such, lol. If you grade him properly and he lands with an open team that's a lock for a new GM. Even I am tempted with my shitty real life in the middle. Or even crappy Daboy. Because who doesn't want to run Shaq done right. Same probably would apply to Durant last Draft if it wasn't for that C (almost C-) rebound although there is only one Shaq.
If it was me I would start him with
B+ D+ C- B- (almost B for high blocks) B+ A.
with perfect strength, best potential (right now it is the lowest A), high inside, high blocks and high rebounds because that's who Shaq was.
Kareem started as B+ C C B+ B+ A. Kareem was better? Ok but Shaq is still a generational talent plus if you check in ITP6, Shq did start with even higher grades than proposed or even higher than Kareem in that iteration for that matter.

Hubert Davis, Tracy Murray, and Danilovic outsides need to be lowered so no A's.
