After the last official FA day everyone just 1st come 1st serve signs FA's to fill a team.
I would like to put into place for offseason only a waiver system for the period after FA and before preseason sim #1 that the waiver system will go by priority from worst record to best. This way bottem teams will have a shot at the better all bet it not great FA's remaining after FA.
This would go into place next season, and we will have a waiver day sim.
Feel free to post thoughts.

Most teams try to claim backups, fill roster to 12 and 1st come 1st serve just kinda seems unfair even though its usually nobody players to people who are at work or unable to be on at this time.

If I am understanding you correctly, if multiple guys go after the same guys, even with lists, it could take days not a day to run this. Then again, I may not be understanding you correctly.

Make a set time to start claiming FAs that is fair to everyone. Say like 6PM the night that you run the last day of FAs.

Its pretty easy really. unlike this season I usually take a 2-3 day break in between end of offseason and start of preseason/season. So I would just run it then people will still post as normal picking up guys or can send me a list of players they want and I will run a couple sims during this time and post results. Owners can also look at postings and see what teams posted to sign so they can see whats going on. we will just have teams post in title of signings there last season record which will help owners see if a player is gone or not. other than that we will just have a couple sims. It creates more work for me but im willing to do it.

If I am understanding you correctly, if multiple guys go after the same guys, even with lists, it could take days not a day to run this. Then again, I may not be understanding you correctly. I think it could be run in one day after FA is over. After that day, FA's are first come first serve most likely. I had the same thought just a bit ago. I worked midnight shift last night until 7 AM and have to be back to work at 6 PM this evening. So I went to sleep for awhile, got up specifically to check ITP (prioritites, priorities ) and see guys posting about who they snagged after FA was over already. Last year, fda got Dell Curry for the league minimum that way. Hardly a level playing field in that sense. I don't know how John would easily implement a waiver-type procedure, but I agree something should be looked into. It's one thing if you lose out sometimes because you only get on here once every couple of days, but there is a distinct advatange to those GM's that can be on here around 9-10 AM CST the last day of FA each season when the last day is posted.

Or you could make a list of worst teams that are lotto and give a time frame for when each could sign. That way it wouldn't put to much more work on you.

I like the idea of doing this time period for, say, the bottom 10 teams. Give those teams ONE day after FA signing is over to post. You know plenty in advance when FA signing is done, so get a list to John if you know you can't be on the board that day. After that ONE day, every team can jump back in and sign FA's, back to first come first serve. I think, John, if you limit it to 10 teams or so, it better serves your purpose of aiding the worst teams, and eases your burden of having to wade through so many teams making claims.

Last year, fda got Dell Curry for the league minimum that way. Hardly a level playing field in that sense. My bad lol. It was well-played within the rules. This year, your boy held out until day 3 and made $26 million! But, last year before you got him, it backfired, as he was trying to extort John for 60+ million on a re-sign deal for 4-5 years as I recall.

since this league has started i have not been able to sign any remaining free agents as they were all gone by the time i got home from work, so any new system that would make it a little more fair i would be all for...
