I dunno, to be honest...I think that some of the GMs that made things pretty active are gone, that's gotta have something to do with it.
I agree though, I check in everyday and there's rarely anything new going on...

partially i think its because of losing some active GMs, and partially its just not new and exciting for us long-standing GMs. There is always a dropoff in activity a few years into a league. we just managed to keep ours up longer than others.

I am guessing that salary cap issues have slowed trading a bit, but there is definitely a lack of participation by way too many GM's.
My opinion is that there needs to be some clearly defined rules as to what "active" means. For instance, if you don't post in the vacation thread and you miss 3 depth charts in a row, you should be removed. I also think there should be requirements to post in the official Sim thread that is put up everyday talking about how your team did, such as a minimum of at least once each week.
I don't buy the excuses of "I'm too busy" to post, write an article, etc. If one is really that busy, do the league a favor and resign so a potential active owner can join the league.

Or has the league gotten boring and quiet? What's going on? Very slow, a few owners are busy and less active so that doesnt help. Other owners are AWOL, and alot of us just are here but dont post as much as before. I few teams will open up and I hope to get better owners in this offseason. |

I miss the power ranking articles. It help keep me upbeat on my team and I also like to hear someones opinion on what is going on with my team. Also I use to listen to what was written and maybe switch up the depth chart or try and make a trade that justified what was being said. I really miss Donnets for that, I loved his articles and he was always being very active in some way.

Denver- I Agree with your rule method. Im in another league and if you miss 3d.c your out. NO EXCUSES, Unless you're a well know Active GM.

JOHNNY BOY- I agree with you on your comments, also I think there are alot of gms out there that would love to have an owner sim 5 times a week.(j.k) You Just gotta keep looking buddy.

Oh yeah forgot to give my opinion on this! I really dont care if the league is active or not because itp was my 1st ever fbb league I ever joined. I use to be in NbA live sims, and 2k sims for over 7 yrs, so we never really had a forum like these fbbs, we all pretty much just playd to trade and win thru aim. Then came FDA asking the 20 time nba live champion if I wanted to join an FBB league and introduced me to all of you.

Those leagues were terrible. All you had to do was use a different email to get a new team, so what was stopping people from cheating? Absolutely nothing.

Then there is the fact that don1955 worked hard to vastly improve his team this season, only to get shut out of the West 8-seed to a Lakers team that hasn't posted here since Pre-season Sim #1! AWOL the entire damn season!!!
That isn't even my team, but is begining to limit my motivation here.

Then there is the fact that don1955 worked hard to vastly improve his team this season, only to get shut out of the West 8-seed to a Lakers team that hasn't posted here since Pre-season Sim #1! AWOL the entire damn season!!! That isn't even my team, but is begining to limit my motivation here. Is that a prediction because I don't see any playoff results yet. Secondly, since I joined he made several moves to weaken his team, at least short term; sold me Pooh Richardson and traded Ceballos for picks. He posted himself he probably hurt his playoff chances, something that I don't quite understand frankly, as a possible contender, but that's just a sidenote, although things like that potentially hurt my motivation. Finally, that Lakers GM should have been fired. Missing 16 sims can't be allowed imo. That hurts activity in a league more than anything. |

Go to the League Standings screen and then towards the upper right you will see the Playoff standings, which show the standings by Conference with an asterisk by each playoff team.  |

Funny thing about John is he does this every year, and sometimes he still manages to win the championship. As for the Lakers I wonder what happened to him, he did a good job of rebuilding the Lakers into a back to back playoff team. |

Honestly, in another month or so when it get's to cold to do alot of outside activities activity here will increase.

As for the Lakers I wonder what happened to him, he did a good job of rebuilding the Lakers into a back to back playoff team. I do this so I take one small step backward, and 2 big steps forward. this keeps my payroll small, and I fill most of the team with star type players to keep the Wolves winning. It has worked very well for me so far, but its possible for it to backfire as it has to me in other leagues. But for the most part it has worked for me in every sim I have been in. |
