For the first time in quite some time, all my starters are in their correct positions. Harper PG, Del Negro SG, Worthy SF, Tisdale,PF and Ortiz C
Does anyone know how significant playing a player in the wrong position really is???
If you play a SG at Center I would expect to see reduced rebounding from that player. . .but SG don't rebound much anyways.
I've played a C at SG and it didn't seem all that bad. . . .Anybody have experience or knowledge they care to share.
Celtics just moved Miller to SF (there was no change in D) . . . .I played him there as a SG without changing his position designation.
All things being equal would we get a different result?

Ive even seen a GM play a center at PG with good results. From what I can tell as long as the ratings support it there is no change.

Me personally it takes away the fun to see a center play pg, or a power forward go at it at SG. Just the "realist" in me. In my other sim leagues we do allow off position sometimes for the following reasons: 1. Off the bench 2. Nothing too impossible. Head simmer makes a judgement call on this one.
I remember a debate before on one of the league where we discussed if Troy Murphy can start at small forward (remember Don Nelson's mismatches?). Troy's GM submitted actual stats and videos to support his claim. He got it. There was also a Kevin Garnett issue (SG?!). He was allowed to play SG off the bench at multiple positions but as a starter, he was pegged at C, PF, or SF.

I like the concept of a player only being able to start at his position. . . .maybe expanded to C and PF exchangeable. . .a guard can play either guard position. . . .not sure what you do with SF. ?
