No. Have to exclude some people and he faded fast after 3 or so seasons.

I went yes. He was a 5 time all-star at the center position, which had some very good depth. He also averaged 23.8 points for his career, which is pretty amazing considering how he dropped off the last few seasons.

I will say no here. Tough one though. Had he been better defensively(stats wise), I would have had a different opinion.

I have some bias, admittedly, since I know what Lanier did for my Nuggets teams. I agree that his lack of defense numbers hurts, but I'm going to argue that his assist numbers offset that a bit.
Lanier was also an "older" player when he entered in the creation draft, so I'm looking a lot harder at his 1st 7 years than the last 3.
My vote was yes.

This is a guy who again, you have to compare to the original players of his era, not against the eventual guys. The guy was a stud period, point blank. What he did in his first six or seven years was unparalleled.

He was fantastic no doubt, but he was on the borderline. That being said, I gave him the edge. Early on in the league he was easily one of the best centers in the league.
