Here is for sim 2
A little bit of explanation about the new stats I added to the table. To begin with, the rank is the first number and the actual value is in the parentheses besides the rank. For example, Warriors are 7th in rebound differential with +2.5 per game.
A lot of changes in the rankings this sim, could be because we are day 2 of the season and also I added 3 new stats which are going to affect the rankings as well.
PFGG : Points per Field Goal attempt per Game
This is how many points a team scores per field goal attempts. The higher the better. The Raptors are the leader at 1.26 points per field goal attempt. This takes into consideration part the FG% but also if they take more 3s or 2s than other team and make more. Points per possession would have been nice, but I cannot get how many offensive rebounds there is per game, so I can estimate that stat unfortunately.
RDPG : Rebound Differential Per Game
This is a measure of how many rebounds a team gets versus how many it lets the other team get. Again, higher the number the better. The Knicks are first in this category with +11.4 rebounds per game. So they are able to get 11.4 rebounds more than the opposition.
ATOR : Assist to Turnover Ratio per game
This is a measure of how many assists a team has per 1 turnover. Celtics are the best in this category with a2.68 assists for every turnover they have.
Other ideas come in mind such as making the same concept of PFGG for opponents, so oPFGG and oATOR.
I am thinking of removing completely the rebounds, assists, turnovers from the rankings themselves since they are now completely considered by RDPG and ATOR.
PFGG sort of does the same for points, but it is a much more complicated stats since that involves 3P, FT and FG. 3P is also calculated within FG as 3P is added to FG.
Also considering taking out oFT% and adding oFTA per game to see how many FTs a team gives. they do not have a say in oFT% technically.
any other ideas?
