This is a top ten list of players by trade value. This list was put together by a complex algorithm my personal opinion from scouring through the index over the past season, so it is very trustworthy probably all wrong.
#1 LaMelo Ball
LaMelo is so good it's bananas. The scoring volume he can put up at a league leading 36.1 ppg is over 5 ppg higher than the guy in 2nd place. He gives maximum scoring efficiency with around 49% from the floor and 44% from 3, and he barely ever turns the ball over. LaMelo is so good you could give him to a complete noobie GM and they could make the 2nd round of the playoffs with him. At only 27 years old there is a lot of cheese ahead for LaMelo.
#2 Killian Hayes
I just want to take a moment and disclose that I'm a real life Pistons fan in the middle of a 26 game losing streak and the fact that Killian Hayes is so good in this sim league literally nauseates me. I want to throw up. But here we are. 30.9 ppg on 48% from the floor and 45% from 3 is pretty incredible, and so is a 9.3 to 1.5 assists/TO ratio.
#3 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
There was a point at around the 40 day mark of the season where Kareem was averaging something like 14 rpg and almost 5 bpg. I thought to myself that he might be the most valuable player in the league while playing in the post. The blocks have cooled off since then, but still, if you have a center as good as this you are going to win a lot of games.
#4 Shawn Marion
25 and 9 as a rookie. Incredible ratings build. Tons of room for improvement. He's not immediately as good as some of the players below him on this list but we're talking about trade value here, and Marion has been one of the best rookies of all time.
#5 Allen Iver$on
A.I. is the potential golden goose of this off-season's free agency. Either he will offer to re-sign for the max with Golden State or he will be the #1 target of everyone with cap space. While Iverson's offensive volume and efficiency aren't quite on the level of Ball and Hayes, Iverson is the clear #3 PG in the league and is two years younger and not far behind. Iverson ends up getting banned from every casino in the city he plays in within a couple of seasons and then becomes unhappy, so the Warriors may plan to move him soon.
#6 Kobe Bryant
Kobe's offense is pretttty good, but not yet great. Not nearly as good as some of the other players on this list, but the fact that he's only 22 and already plays all league defense makes him a tremendous asset and a franchise cornerstone.
#7 Joel Embiid
Embiid's performance took a huge leap when he joined the Nuggets several seasons ago and this season has been his best yet. 28.5 ppg and 12.3 rpg while playing excellent defense and having the ability to hit the 3, as a center.
#8 Zach LaVine
LaVine is another high volume scorer, but what makes him different from all of the other players on this list is his efficiency. LaVine is the only player in the league to be both top 10 in PPG and FG%. Usually the leaders for FG% are reserved for bench players who catch lightning in a bottle, but not in this case. LaVine scored 27.9 ppg on .498 from the floor.
#9 Chet Walker
I know you're surprised to see this name on the list but just go check him out on the Lakers roster. He's 18 and his current ratings build is crazy. I'd bet you dollars to donuts (don't even know what that means) that Walker is a superstar in a few seasons. I drafted Rip Hamilton over this guy. FML.
#10 Kevin Durant
I thought about some established players around the league who could make this list and take this spot. I thought about Anfernee Hardaway, Paul Pierce, Karlton Hines and Ray Allen. And then I realized I think I'd rather just roll the dice on Durant than go in any of those directions. Durant has a very promising build, high potential, and is only 19.
