I wish the Hawks signed him a few years ago with Chris Paul. That would have been nice. I don't know how to feel about this The answer, bad. Unless he somehow gains some pride being home and works harder and smarter

Damn we can do ahead and dub this offseason/FA "the overpaid" none of the guys signed yet should have gotten a max deal. AL Jefferson is really the only deal I have liked so far and that hinges on him staying healthy.

Posted this in the wrong thread first. But why the fuck did the Hawks sign Bazemore four years 70 million?! Dude didn't even average 12 points last season! And the Rockets and Lakers offered him 72 million for 4 years and he turned that down!

Kind of glad he didn't sign with the rockets no worth that money and SF & SG aren't as big as needs for use as PF & C and PG are.

The only excuse I have for these MEGA contracts going to small-ball players is that the GM's must be expecting insane growth over the next 5-10 years.
The cap is just a reflection of how much the league is making, as the players split the profits 50/50 with the owners. So with the cap expected to jump another $20-$30 million next summer, these max contracts will be $10 million a year less than next year's max contracts..
For example:
If Kevin Durant signs a 5 year max this offseason with the Thunder it will be 5 years/$153 million If he signs a 1 year deal this year, and resigns his max NEXT summer, his max could go up to 5 years/$205 million
This year's cap sits at $111 million per team.. in 2018-2019 the cap is projected to hit upwards of $150 million per team.
unreal.

a lot of interesting deals today. deng going to lakers, horford to the celtics, ryan anderson to the rockets, courtney lee to the knicks, barnes signs a offer sheet for the mavs. all good pickups, salaries aside. the knicks are looking to be much improved this year, especially if they can get a few good depth players; rose-lee-melo-zingis-noah is pretty damn good if they stay healthy.

i still think the pacers are the winners so far this offeason, acquiring thadeus young-Al Jefferson-Jeff Teague and drafting levert and georges niang. and now they are apparently in talks with the kings to get rudy gay. Thats a lot of good moves.
