Navy has had a good program in recent years. They could easily gain some better talent with letting guys play in the NFL. Im sure they are scared other members will try to use other professions to "get out" of Navy.

I know the Braves drafted a guy from Navy last season I wana say, and they were going to allow him to play until he had to report for his duties. Said he was going to try and push it off for as long as possible and his coach was helping to push it off

Not that i either but my cousin did manage to graduate with honers back in 2004 i believe and was one of the interrogators for Saddam Hussien . So i know what I'm talking about. If you must now what is it like Captian Jamie Curry well it's just Jamie fuck what uncle sam say .

You really cant be red shirted in the military academies because you must progress through them are be faced with a COURT MARSHALL yes they can court Marshall you if you decide to fuck up a symester . I respect that you wouldn't want riff raff running shit unless there born into it like Bush are President Trump

There is scenarios where someone wants to join the Navy but also wants to go pro. If more players are allowed to go pro, its a win win for the player and thus it will help with recruiting for the team.

Ken Niumatalolo, the Navy coach, has said that NFL aspirations has cost them a lot of recruits.

Yes because who wouldn't want to be a year are two older and still be a freshman. Alot of people sit out of school to make a good college in hopes of pro aspirations. A kid would have to be built to forgo his prep training and instead hike 12 hrs a day making suger cookies climbing up a mountain only to play Saturday a rested Alabama team that's pampered that there only worry is football not mad men in a dessert who are hell bent on killing you

Its not just 5 stars. Niumatalo said that the lower prospects still have aspirations. Its hurts recruiting overall. All 3 of those schools have so many regulations and rules that hurt them in recruiting that it is amazing when they do well.

i never saw anyone who said a 5 star would go to Army or Navy. but say they go after some of those low three stars or high two stars. those are guys they can get. if they are 100% not willing to serve our country, Army and Navy loses out of that recruit.
but i have to say probably 95% of the players that go to Army/Navy/Air Force dont care about playing professional sports. they are people who want to serve our country, but also have the ability to play a certain sport. we are just saying if they open up to the idea of allowing guys to serve their military duty during the offseason, it could help them get better recruits, and that would bring in more money to the school. the obviously still wouldnt get players like Rashan Gary or Jacob Eason, but they could get more three star guys

The amount of recruits they lose out on are slim

i feel like we hit a nerve with this guy. i dont get why he is so mad over the 2% that really has a shot to play professional sports. and its not like im saying "they should be able to play!" its just trying to find a way to get guys to go to their school, and find ways to let them play professionally.
and you bring up Roger Staubach, but its a completely different game today than it was back in the 60s. Staubach goes and serves his country, and goes to the NFL 5 years later, and back then, no one really cares about the time off. in todays NFL, if Keenan Reynolds has to sit out the five years to serve his country, he will try to enter the NFL at the age of 26-27. do you really think the Ravens will want to give him a legit shot, or a 21 year old fresh out of college who had the same kind of career he did?
the rule may be a little outdated, and maybe they can kind of do what South Korea does with baseball players, which is if they are on the major league roster, the guy can be exempt from their military duty as long as on the roster. but Reynolds is a special case, as he is the first player out of one of the schools that has a legit shot to stick with a professional team
