I just wanted to confirm something. For trade salary purposes, what does the following statement mean?
Salaries must match 115 Percent unless team taking on more money has the cap room.
By "cap room", does that mean soft cap space, or hard cap space? I'm assuming hard cap space, but someone mentioned to me in messaging that it is soft cap space.
Thanks.

By the way, the reason I ask, is because here is the wording on the trade checker sheet:
Instructions: Type in all salaries for each team (no $ or commas needed, just the numbers) Type in available cap space for each team, use - if necessary Trades will fail if there isn't available soft cap space, if it doesn’t match by 115%, or if the trade puts one team over the hard cap The needed salary changes will display to get them to match within 115% if necessary You can change the team names to match your teams for a more personalized trading experience
That wording doesn't match what's in the main trade rules topic that I posted earlier.

yeah it is soft cap space. if both teams are over the soft cap the trade must match within 115%.
If one team is under and one is over the team with cap available can take extra salary if they have the space. for example:
Team A has 10 million available soft cap space Team B is over the soft cap by 10 million (10 million left before hard cap)
Team A sends Player 1 who makes 5 million Team B sends Player 2 who makes 9 million and Player 3 who makes 4 million
it definitely doesn't match within 115% but because Team A has the extra 10 million in cap space they can take on the additional 8 million in salary.
hope that clarifies. I made the trade checker and was trying to put in additional wording to make it easier to understand why a trade may fail.

That means if i offer you Mike Green, Stacey King and Stromille Isell for Magic Johnson you should definitely take that deal cause we're within 115%.

Sounds good! (not your post, Huxley, but the explanation!)
