Q: Do height, and weight matter in the game?
A: Height and Weight are both used in the calculations for inside play. Players with a height or weight advantage over their opponent will be more effective inside.

Q: When I cut a player what happens to his remaining contract?
A: If you cut a player (Other than in Free cuts.) his contract will remain on the books until that contract length in years expires. If you look on your team page at the bottem it will list your cut contracts totals owed per year.

Q: When can I sign MLE/LLE contacts? and can I trade a player who has a MLE or LLE contract?
A: You can offer a MLE or LLE contract when your remaining cap space is less than a MLE 4.5million, or LLE 1.2 million. If you are over those numbers in cap space you cannot offer a MLE/LLE contract. MLE/LLE contracts cannot be traded so once you sign those players they are stuck on the roster until the end of the deal.

Q: how much of an impact do actual potentials have on a player? for example, if a rookie has a true potential of 72, can they still become a good player?
A: One thing to always remember is FBB is very random when it comes to potential and training camps. I've seen many Players with 100 potential or very high potential can become a bust, or not live up to his potential. On the other hand I have seen players with much lower potential develope into stars. Its best just to keep this fact in mind when it comes to this version of FBB.

Q: what are the benefits/disadvantages of having a fast pace or a slow pace? also what are the benefits/disadvantages of having trap often or rarely, or having a press often or rarely?
A: Pace determines how quickly your team looks to shoot.. more shots = more potential for scoring. Trap is all about big men getting involved in half court traps.. more defense and more fouls. Same for press but with guards instead.

"I want to make a trade. Do the salaries need to match between the teams?"
The ITP uses a "softcap" figure and a "hardcap" (Hardcap is not part of the game.) figure. At the current time, for example, our softcap figure is $62 million. The hardcap figure is always $20 million above that, so in this case $82 million. If you are over $62 million, but under $82 million, you may hear this referred to as either being "over the softcap" or "IN the hardcap". If you are over $82 million, you are "OVER the hardcap", and there are severe penalties to that if you don't get under it by the next sim (see league rules for penalty).
Here is how all that affects trading in the ITP:
If BOTH teams can trade players and the salaries involved DO NOT put either team over the softcap, then the salaries do not have to match at all.
If BOTH teams are already over the softcap, or the team taking back the most salary either is or would become over it as a result of the trade, then the salaries become a factor and the total has to be within 115%. So If team A is trading a $1 mil player, then Team B could not be offering more than $1.15 in total salary back if Team A is over the softcap already, or if this trade would put them over the softcap.
Example: Magic have a total roster salary of $31.3 million. The 76ers have a total roster salary of $47.8 million. They want to trade. The Magic have $30.7 million in free cap space, and the 76ers have $14.2 million. As long as the 76ers aren't taking on more than $14.2 million than they are sending out in a deal, the salaries in a trade between these teams won't need to match in any way, because both teams would be staying under the softcap of $62 million.
Another EX: If both teams had just $2 million in open cap space (i.e. had a $60 million roster salary), they could swap, let's say, a $3 million player for a $2 million player, because both would stay at less than $62 million total with that deal (One would stay at $60 million total while the other went up to $61 million). But if one was sending a $5 million player for just a $2 million player, that wouldn't work, as the team taking on the $5 million player would end up at $63 million total. THAT would mean the salary exchange has to match within the 115% rule.

Q: Why do we show player ratings before training camp, and not after training camp?
A: A good portion of us like the randomness of the game and not knowing a players rating 100% to give some mystery to trading, etc. We show ratings before TC so that the owners get an idea of where the player is at rating wise. So when a new season flips the game ages players (ratings can change.), and Training camp changes ratings thus we see them before TC to give us some mystery during trading.

Q: Why don't we show trading picks on our team pages?
A: Picks can be trading multiple times during a season, and without a owed picks thread we can lose track of who has what picks, so we prefer to keep a list on the forums to help eliminate and errors. We had a lot of issues with this when we first started ITP and this seems to work better.
