John - you need to look into this for the sake of the league, and before you go off on this being drama bullshit started for the sake of it, save it, because it absolutely is not. I have the utmost respect for you, and your league John and have stood behind you through all the BS this league has seen.
I am bringing this up for discussions sake, and maybe I am the only one who thinks that, please let me know. If it is the case that I am the only one willing to put their balls to the floor and call shenanigans that is fine, it needs to be done.
The fact of the matter is, I have stood pat on this for a while now, but something needs to be looked in to with possible collusion between the Celtics, Grizzlies, Spurs, and Kings. The Celtics and Grizzlies have made multiple trades between themselves each season since Day 1. Now it seems a little curious that they all four made the same money claiming mistakes, and then get called on it by Don (thanks btw, Don, that is absolutely ridiculous). Isn't it strange that the Spurs GM was recruited by the Kings also? If you think this is all mere coincidence I urge you to go back and take a look at a few of the trades between all of these guys since coming into the league.
Perhaps I am dead wrong on this, and I hope I am, and maybe it is just mere coincidence that these guys always come to an agreement when they talk trades, and that Danny has somehow managed to collect all of his picks to be the top lottery picks...while some going through some of the aforementioned GMs.
Like I said to start this is brought up for discussions sake. I hope others who have the same doubts don't just hide in the corner, but perhaps they will. If that is the case, I hope some of these guys will at least give some reasonable explanations to how these GMs all four tried to screw over the money claiming system on top of questionable trade after questionable trade.
Just something to consider, please offer some thoughts....

I have to back up Ace even though this will probably be called drama. It just seems strange and it does matter if all of these guys are the same person or if they are 2 people running multiple teams.
This is the one thing I have actually agreed with the Mavs GM on and now agree with Ace. I don't see why it would hurt to at least do an IP check and put everyone's mind at ease.

I welcome your discussion. I do not know any of the other mentioned GMs. Maybe bad teams like to stick together like the Mavs GM said. Since day 1 these guys have been nice to talk trades with. I always get advice and feedback from Jackson. I do not think we have ever made a questionable trade and none of our deals have ever been protested that I remember in what, 4 seasons? We always try to better both of our teams when we talk about trades. I do not know what else to say besides I am sorry you feel that way. My team has been so horrible for so many seasons waiting for this next draft, and everything I have done has led up to it. Sometimes I wish I owned multiple teams though, I am sick of losing. In a way though I can see how you could think that aceman, but I can assure you just sometimes you get confortable with certain people and it makes trade talk and stuff alot easier. You and the Magic made like 10 deals in his first couple months as an owner too if you do not remember. It just happens.

I have to say I have followed this behind the scenes since our 1st season. They all have different IP's and although that can be easily changed I dont think they are the same person. It would be different if trades seemed lopsided to one team but then thats why we have the trade council and I dont think any of these teams have had a trade between themselves protested. This is one of the main reasons we created the trade council to help prevent someone who has more than one IP or a IP changer program to join a league and trade all the good players to that team. While the depth chart issue bothers me I posted in another thread that we will be adding a 25.00 fine for anyone who claims a depth chart that was posted. I also added that into the "How to earn cash" post under our bank area.
As I mentioned earlier I have followed this behind the scenes close and all emails, IP's, and every other traceable information shows as different users. Yes Its possible that one person could get all around that but once again here in the ITP even if we have one owner running two teams (I would fire that owner if I could prove it.) the trade council would stop any issues that owner could cause. So I appreciate everyone looking out for the league and I encourage it. I only ask or wish people would contact me on AIM, Email, or PM before posting on the forums. Other than that if I found proof as I mentioned earlier in this post I would fire any owner trying to run two teams. Stuff like this is why I am glad there is a trade council in place. As for the claims I just want to remind people I put in a 25.00 fine per depth chart that was claimed and not posted starting this coming sim. If you continue to claim depth charts you will be fined often.

Yes - I understand the trading, etc. You can say that Legend and I had become "comfortable trade partners", and that is fine if you guys always seem to come to an agreement when you talk trades, I get that.
However - I will wait patiently for some sort of explanation as to how all four of you make the same claiming mistake for depth charts....and all within a small window of time. Jackson and Danny especially you have been around since the beginning, you understand the claiming system, yet you try to cheat the system, oh and then two other GMs do the exact same thing. The trades are more icing on the cake in my opinion.
If nothing else - these fines should be retroactive for trying to cheat the system, John

If nothing else - these fines should be retroactive for trying to cheat the system, John I will have to think about it as its hard to fine people when a rule to do so was not in place. I do undstand the issue, but I also understand how easy it is to think you posted a chart on a day and claim it. I personally have done the same thing and a owner PM'ed me that I forgot to post a chart on one of the days. I have dont it a couple times over the history of the league. But with that I have to decide what I want to do here. Fine them retroactively or start from the rule date. Since ive been gone all weekend and I am tired I will have to look at how many claims were done on depth charts that were not posted and go from there when I have the time, energy, and clear mind to deal with it. If thats not good enough for anyone who has a issue then I cant help you. so tomorrow when I have time to look at everything I can be up to speed on it with everyone and rule on what needs to be done.

There was one trade I remember that got protested. It was between the Kings and I believe the Grizz. It was for McMillian. It got protested, than they tried it again, same result. After they could not work it out, McMillian was traded to the Celtics.

Ryan was the only reason I joined the league. He is the only person I know here on a personal level. I would never cheat at anything, much less a sports simulation league. I like it here and would like to stay on as an owner even though Ryan did quit. I did alot right when I took over to get the team to where it is now. But I would never enter into collusion with any other owners. I own the game and it has gotten old playing by myself, this online league is fresh and new to me.

Glad you are staying and as for Ryan I didnt want him to go and I posted the fines to and fine rule to fix a loophole in the system. We do this whenever we can to help make the league better. I in no way said there was any cheating going on. I just wanted to be clear on that. So I am sorry to see Ryan go, but thats his choice.
