In a few minutes before I leave for the weekend the 89 draft class will be up. I did notice somethings that we will have to do to it, but this thread will be only for postings on suggestions on ratings and other draft class related topics.
Draft class will be up in 5-10 minutes.
When I get back on monday morning I will go over the thoughts, and postings here.

I will post some specifics when time allows, but my first glance has me scratching my head on some of the Potential ratings already.
The Admiral, for one. He has A ratings where they should be, but a "C" potential? Shawn Kemp and Tim Hardaway are "C" potential, while J.R. Reid is a "B"?
I've only glanced for about 2-3 minutes though.

Rudd, Petrovic, Greg Grant, David Robinson, Sam Mitchell, all need to be deleted or changed. 1 of them needs to be changed to Danny Ferry.

We also need to delete Bob McCann, Donald Royal, Anthony Mason, Alexander Volkov, and Sarunas Marciulionis.

I agree with the Clippers and Heat. Those guys need to be deleted and this class should be edited alot. I like the suggested edits to the main players.

George McCloud should have better shooting skills and defense too. In college he was great for FSU. This draft class looks too weak on the webpages.

i think joshbounds suggestions are a bit high, though i agree the ratings they have now need some adjustment, i just think you over adjusted and aren't accounting for TC increases. . especially as rookies with high potential

I agree with Heat. That sounds about right, but I wouldnt rate them that high as rookies, maybe notch it down a bit, not too much .

That looks more like it with these adjustments. Kemp should be the only A- Inside Scorer from the start but Vlade, Cliff, Ellison, Ferry, King, and Reid need to have the potential to get there. I like the changes and approve.
I have an idea for George McCloud too.
George McCloud C+ A- B- B C A The guy hit ten 3 pointers in 1 game at FSU and stroked it in the NBA as well.

Vlade Divac B+ C+ C+ A- B+ B Shawn Kemp A- C- C- A- B+ A Cliff Robinson - B+ C C+ A- B- B Sean Elliot - B- A- B- B+ C+ A Glen Rice - B A- C+ B C+ A Nick Anderson - B A- C A- C B BJ Armstrong - C A- A- B+ D+ B Dana Barros - C A- A- B D+ B Mookie Blaylock - C+ C+ A- A- C- A Tim Hardaway - B- B+ A- A- C- A Pervis Ellison - B+ B+ B- A- B A Danny Ferry - B+ C+ C+ A- B+ A Stacy King - B+ C C A- A- B JR Reid - B+ C- C A- B+ B Maybe more like this? Much better. Glen Rice's Defense could be better IMO but this would give the class substance.

Who? All im aware of was Len Bias, but he never got a chance to play in the NBA.
If Ferry was this bad in the NBA i dont think his college stats should matter.

Is that how we been doing it all along? Because some people are talking about what the players did in the NBA, while others are talking about their college success. As long as we're not playing both sides of the fence. (Where we make good NBA'er's good, and crappy NBA'ers but were successful in college so they're good too)

I think they should all have the potential they had out of college ball. And maybe the suprises or (steals) out of college that we knew about should have their potential upped a little too. Or maybe the guys that were great in college just have solid ratings and great potential while the guys we know were (stars) come out of the gate stars. I think you need a mixture of both sides of the fence to make it more realistic.

Either way I have to agree with the modified changes on joshbounds thread and his list of players.

I've always used NBA stats to argue my points on guys and how they should be rated. If guys that were great in college and bad in the NBA were rated similar to guys that were great in the NBA, we would have a league full of overrated star rookies. Danny Ferry really shouldn't be very good at all.
I've got thoughts on this class, but I don't have the time right now to go guy by guy and do it.
I'll try to add my thoughts soon.

the only thing I have a prob with is we did not make drob, pippen, and miller complete studs right away.
While if we go by the suggestions it would seem rice, kemp, divac, elliot, would seem to turn out better than them.
Also Hardaway should be the top PG in all the all around catagories. Also I think he should have an A in handles or maybe even A+, but being his dribbling very high with his passing a little under. Also he was a dead shooter
so maybe C+ A- A B+ C A for Hardaway.
I also thought we went more with the NBA stats with a mixture of the college stats.
And with all the camps we can give, plus LTC these rookies would seem to turn out to be just amazing players. I think we should lean more towards a little lower in the rating but making sure they true stars stand over the other good players.
