I vaguely remember a magazine I read as a kid. It was after Michael Jordan retired in 98, and it was a list of players that could become the new face of the league. Replacing Jordan. Antoine Walker was on that list.

Man, there have been some incredible players that have played this game. People are so quick to just say if they're not as good as Michael, Magic,Larry,Lebron, etc.... that they want to belittle them as players.
Such an incredible game.

Look at what they do to Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, etc. They tear them down any chance they get.
In New York. Julius Randle has made 2 all NBA teams in the last 3 years. He's one of (3!!) Knicks that's made multiple All NBA teams in the last 50!!! years (Ewing and Carmelo beinf the other 2). And after Knicks lost to Miami last year, they got a video of fans tearing down his poster in Msg and stomping on it.
I feel fans have become too knowledgeable today. They think they know everything. And that leads them to disrespecting these NBA Stars.

A lot of "old heads" like me (50 yrs old or older) also want to disparage the NBA nowadays for a variety of reasons. I LOVE that there is some difference between college basketball and the NBA. I enjoy each immensely, and would not want them to be exactly the same games.

Well after Malace at the Palace, things had to change. It's no confidence Andrea Bargnani was the 1st overall pick the very next year. While the San Antonio Spurs became the model franchise with a heavy international roster.
Make the game international. Make it global. There's more money in the world than just in America. While making it an international more European like game. Somethings were lost in the process. Especially for somebody that grew up on the 90s Knicks.
But even with the changes. The positives in the game still far outweigh the negatives. It's just we get too stuck on negatives sometimes.

Quickley with a 26pt game.
OG was a defensive maniac again. Demar Derozan never even looked at the basket when OG was on him. He was a +35 tonight. +54 through 2 games.
It's early, but I think it's trending toward one of those rare win-win deals.

But he’s going to be demanding up to 40 million. He’s great, on his current 19 million/year deal but would be a little worried about paying him more.

He seems to be a great fit alongside Brunson and Randle.

What’s next for New York? The Knicks didn’t land Anunoby without an understanding of his own financial considerations. Anunoby held meetings with several agencies this past offseason when he decided to leave Klutch Sports, telling potential representation he was interested in a larger offensive role that would be commensurate with a salary figure in the ballpark of $40 million in average annual value, league sources told Yahoo Sports. However, Anunoby did leave those potential agents with the impression he would be willing to accept a smaller figure if he were to have landed in New York, sources said. And it’s relevant to note the Indiana product did ultimately sign with CAA, which has deep connections to New York leadership.sports.yahoo.com/what-the-og-anunoby-trade-means-for-the-knicks-and-raptors-190440377.htmlI think if it's closer to 30-35 Mil. Id sign up for that. Dillon brooks got about 22 mil. And we've seen the positive impact hes made on Houston. Justifying that once questionable deal. OG is clearly better than Brooks. Id say at the least 10mil better.

Antoine for real makes me sad. Blew all that money (108m). Never got himself a wife and settled down. He just always lived for the moment until the 3s stopped going in and the money ran out. Notorious history with Antoine and alcohol + casinos. Now he's a lost dude with a drinking problem and no family and no money.

So, if you were the Lakers, would you make any of these proposed deals?
Trade 1:
Lakers get: Markelle Fultz, Wendell Carter Jr., Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, 2025 First-Round Pick
Magic get: Anthony Davis, Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish
Trade 2:
Lakers get: Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, 2024 First-Round Pick
Cavs get: Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell
Trade 3:
Lakers get: Davis Bertans, Lu Dort, Josh Giddey, Jalen Williams, 2025 First-Round Pick (PHI), 2027 First-Round Pick (PHI), 2028 First-Round Pick
Thunder get: Anthony Davis, Taurean Prince, Max Christie

I like the OKC deal. Jalen Williams is the best asset out of all 3 trades. 2nd year player already averaging 18ppg 4apg on 54/44 shooting numbers. You even see them going to Jalen down the stretch of games. Over Shai. I like him alot.
Josh Giddey has become a bit of a forgotten man with his decreased role. And hes being more remembered for non basketball stuff. But on the court last year he was a 16-17 point 8 rebound 6 assist player. Who's only 21 years old.
And Lu Dort is becoming the ideal 3 and D guy.
That's a huge return. I don't even know if OKC does that.

OKC would probably do it to see a Holmgren/Davis post area. Would be tough to score down low. And SGA running the show. They'd be even more legit.

Disappears very often. This season he seems to have been doing okay so maybe that will up his value. It is a nice idea though

AD and Chet would be a perfect counterpunch to Jokic and Gordon inside. And the Nuggets are the team to beat.
But it feels like OKC loves the idea of having everybody on the court be versatile. Handle the ball, shoot it, pass it. That's the model of their roster. I think they wanna keep that and add to it. Rather than shaking everything up.
Go after a forward who fits that mold. Like a Lauri Markkanen from Utah.

Best thing about Doncic's 73 points was the shooting efficiency which is not always the case for him.
25-33 fg, 15-16 ft, 8-13 3s.
So Doncic needed 33 attempts and 13 fts to score 73 as opposed to 41 and 23 that needed Embiid to score 70.
Kobe needed 46 and 20 to score 81. And Wilt, 62 and 31 for 78 (in 3OT) and 63 and 32 for 100.
