I had posted this at the respective section, but decided to move it here. Maximum Contracts (Based on Player's Experience) 0-6 years: 25% of salary cap (or $13,750,000) 7-9 years: 30% of salary cap (or $16,500,000) 10+ years: 35% of salary cap (or $19,250,000) Softcap = 50.0 million Hardcap = 70.0 million Aren't those maximum contracts for a 55.0 million salary cap? ... This is my first FA period in ITP so here are some questions: 1. How will FA period be run? The whole 5 days in one sim? 2. How many offers can each GM make per day? Any limit?3. How many LLE and MLE offers can each GM make?4. Lists sent via PM? Is there a pre-determined format?example:
Name (alphabetic order by first name) + amount on 1st year + number of seasons + increase %
Joe Dumars - starting at $6,500,000 - 5 seasons - 10% increase5. Will teams be able to remove/change their offers as FA period goes?

i believe we run either a 2 or 3 sim format.
you can make as many offers as you dont go over the limit, unless you have the bird years for that player.
I believe you get one of each for LLE MLE
And yes you will be able to change offers and drop if you do not want.
I think this is how this works, if wrong hope someone will correct me.

Just want to echo some of those questions, especially #4. I am feeling that I don't have a clue how this FA thing works, and I am in desperate need of signing some. Will we submit offers here on the forums and then John puts them in, and then the FBB sim engine decides where the player signs if there are several submitted offers from multiple teams? Or do we PM offers to John so they aren't visible to other GM's? The contract/cap/FA thing seems to be the most difficult portion to grasp for me.

I think John said 3 sims this year. The 1st day, then day 2-3, and last day 4-5.

We usually do it in 2 days, but this time I will do it in 3. 2. You can make offers with what you have in cap room. 3. one each 4. You send the offers to me when we announce when FA is going to be. Yes you send them just like you posted. 5. Yes you can change your offer for each FA day if you wish.

Its loooking like FA will be soon. Once Ariza picks the draft should fly by since the Spurs pick is an auto by John and everyone else is active...

Thanks for the feedback! Here are a couple of things I still did not understand: 1) So if the cap is 50 mil, shouldn't maxes for 0-6 yrs ( based on players experience) be 12.5mil (aka 25%) instead of 13.75mil ? 13.75mil is 25% of 55mil, that's why I mentioned that figure. 2) I'm aware each team may only sign 1 MLE and 1 LLE... But are GMs allowed to make MLE and LLE offers to more than just one player and hope one of those accepts it, or is it just one MLE offer and one LLE offer per team? I'm used to playing in leagues where each team is able to make 10 or 15 MLE and LLE offers that's why I'm asking.

you can make MLE offers and LLE to more than one but only if you have the cap room to offer to more than one.
Yes its because we were going to do 55 million in cap, but went to 50 instead. Game adjust max deals for you also.

MLE and LLE - GOT IT! SALARY CAP & MAX CONTRACTS - GOT IT! Make sure you edit FA Rules and adjust those max contracts based on players experience to 12.5mil (0-6 yrs), 15mil (7-9 yrs) and 17.5mil (10+ yrs). Maximum Contracts (Based on Player's Experience) 0-6 years: 25% of salary cap (or $13,750,000) 7-9 years: 30% of salary cap (or $16,500,000) 10+ years: 35% of salary cap (or $19,250,000) * - These are the first year salaries on a max contract and they go up from there. Also some important info from FBB's help file: *A team can always offer a player who played for their team the previous season a contract starting with at 120% of the salary the player made the previous season. The player may receive up to a 10% raise each year in the contract. From what I've seen in ITP I believe that from now on the salary cap will play a crucial role in franchise's future, so GMs gotta be careful on who to max and for how long.

Indeed.
I can see some teams losing their head and compromising their future, ehehe.
Think first, make offers second. LMAO

It would be nice to have access to the comprehensive rules regarding soft cap and hard cap.
One may be very aware of the FBB rules about free agency, but since there's no such thing as soft cap/hard cap in FBB, it would probably be a good thing if all GMs could know in detail how it works in ITP.
Just my $0.2
