Superstar. Let’s look at Jalen Rose’s award history... ...weird, there is nothing there Hasn't been given his time to shine yet. Obviously. Averaging 22 a game with high efficiency as a 3rd option. Shoulda seen what Adam Templeton was doing as a Mav

Sweet. Now Jabari will be completely wasted b/c he doesn't have any cash to camp him. And he just traded for Stockton so he's stuck in that terrible no mans land of fringe lottoo/8th seed rather than trading for another superstar and competing. Nice. Let's be real Klomper. WITH Jalen Rose they're in no man's land. Lotto/8th seed. What do they have? Stockton, Rose, and who? Stockton is solid, Rose is a stud. And that's it. With this deal they're not making the playoffs. We both know that. They're a million times better off keeping Parker, tanking it out and getting another young stud in next years draft. Then all of a sudden they'll have a foundation of young talent. Thats a foreign concept for the Heat I know. But maybe just maybe they should give it a try after doing things unsuccessfully for the last 15 seasons. And the idea that they should trade a super rookie prospect like Parker away because they don't have cash at the moment? Seriously? You know why they don't have cash? Because they spend it on camping scrubs (Marcus Moore last year). You know why they spend it on camping scrubs? Because they keep trading away the legitimate prospects. Just like they're doing right here. It gotta stop. You're a smart guy, you know what the Heat are doing is retarded. How can you even post what you posted?

I have no confidence in anything the Heat is doing. Look at the historical performance. 29th out of 29 in career win percentage. 29th out of 29 in career postseason wins and postseason win percentage.

I just hate the fact the council is turning into a judgement of what they would do if it was their team. The deal is more than fair, the reasoning for veto is not what the council is for. If the same deal was for MJ, under everybody's logic, the deal should have been veto'd too. Which isn't right. The trade would have made the Heat a better team for at least this year and next year, what else should a trade do? One simple trade isn't going to take a team from lotto to championship contender. But now the council is denying trades that very obviously would have improved a team for 2 seasons, if not more. I just don't think that's right. Or why the council should even be in place. Obviously I would not have made the same trade if I was the Heat, b/c I value what everybody in the council values (championship contention, more than 1 star, etc), but the deal is not veto worthy. Now the council is telling GMs how to run their teams, not protect the league.

Now the council is telling GMs how to run their teams, not protect the league. This is protecting the league from a owner who cant help himself but destroy his team but yet send young studs, lotto picks to top teams. If he had kept his picks, players he would have a good lineup now and winining. John Stockton isn't going to help him, Rose isn't going to help him win more than 25-28 games but it will help him take up his cap, lose his stud rookie in Parker, and his picks. If this trade went through at most he has 2 decent players that uses his cap and gets him nowhere. At least Parker, and his picks gives him a chance if he holds serve for 2-3 seasons to have a stud filled lineup and finally wining with cap room to keep players. THIS IS EXACTLY what the trade council is for! He should not spend any cash but bank it up to spend on Parker, next years lotto, buy out Stockton and call it a day.

Have to say that I disagree with the Commish- there are only 2 reasons for a trade to go to council
1. To protect newbie's from getting taken advantage of in a trade.
2. To protect the integrity of the league.
"protecting the league from a owner who can't help himself but destroy his team" is NOT an issue of league integrity but an issue of GM competence:-
Either he's competent to be a GM and should be allowed to make the trades he wants;
or he's not competent and shouldn't be allowed to run a team

I’m just looking through the Heat / Lakers trade thread and I saw the heat traded pick 1 to be Lakers for pick 4
Lakers only have ever had 1 #1 pick
Did they trade them Michael Jordan for pick 4 and $200?
